2 Week E-Learning Course
Get Certified! Take a Scuba Lesson with the PADI Open Water Diver Course
Get your PADI scuba certification. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it all starts.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
The Dive Shop offers a 2-week course designed for the person with a busy schedule. Instead of using a study manual, you complete all of the classroom sessions online, following a link from our website. This includes quizzes and the final exam! Once complete, you are ready to pick a date and sign up for the pool training.
The pool training consists of 4 evening classes. The first session starts on a Monday, the second session is Wednesday of the same week, the third session is the following Monday, and the final session is Wednesday of that second week.
The first session includes some paperwork, and learning to assemble scuba gear. All other sessions are conducted in the pool. Unlike other dive shops, that means you actually get over 10 hours of just water training!
The use and maintenance of a mask, fins and snorkel is a key element to your success in your scuba class. These are personal pieces of equipment that should be purchased based on proper fit and comfort. The Dive Shop asks that you pre-purchase mask, fins, and snorkel prior to starting your class. With your own equipment, you are more relaxed and have more fun in the pool. The Dive Shop staff is available to assist you in your selection of this equipment; we also have rental equipment available for your pool sessions at a nominal fee. All other scuba equipment to complete your pool training is furnished by The Dive Shop. And, our pool is located right at the shop, so there is no additional cost to you for pool rental!

What You Learn
The PADI Open Water course consists of 3 main phases:
