Whether you’re a seasoned technical diver looking for a week of serious diving or a recreational diver who has always wondered what comes next, this trip is for you.
Our 2027 Bonaire Tec Dive Trip is designed to bring divers from across the technical spectrum together. Come dive your current certification level, work toward your next one, try a rebreather for the first time, or simply spend the week around experienced technical divers and see what this side of diving is all about.
THIS ISN’T JUST FOR TECH DIVERS
You don’t need to already be a technical diver to join us.
If you’re a recreational diver who has looked at doubles, sidemount, decompression bottles, mixed gas, or CCR and thought, “Someday I’d like to try that,” this is your opportunity.
We’re creating a trip where recreational divers can explore technical diving in an approachable environment while experienced technical divers have the opportunity to train, dive, and continue progressing.
Come to Bonaire as a recreational diver and you may leave with an entirely new direction for your diving.
TECHNICAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Training opportunities are planned across a wide range of levels—from a diver taking their first steps into open-circuit decompression diving all the way through advanced mixed-gas CCR
training.
Depending on certification level, prerequisites, instructor availability, and individual training goals, opportunities may include:
-
Introductory technical diving
-
Open-circuit decompression procedures
-
Advanced decompression diving
-
Extended-range diving

FULL TECH & CCR SUPPORT — STEPS FROM YOUR ROOM
One of the things that makes Captain Don’s Habitat such a great location for this trip is just how easy the logistics are.
All rebreather and technical diving support for the trip will be provided by TDS Bonaire, located just steps away from the living spaces at Captain Don’s Habitat.
That means the infrastructure and support needed for serious technical diving are right where we’re staying. Instead of spending your week transporting equipment across the island or coordinating technical-diving logistics from multiple locations, you'll have technical and CCR support within easy walking distance of your accommodations.
For a trip involving doubles, stages, bailout cylinders, CCRs, mixed gases, and all the equipment that comes along with technical diving, that convenience is a huge advantage.
Wake up. Grab your gear. Walk a few steps. Go diving.
TRY A REBREATHER
Curious about CCR but not ready to commit to a full course?
We’re planning CCR Try Dive opportunities during the trip, giving divers the chance to experience several different rebreather platforms.
Dive Rite O2ptima CM / CHO2ptima
The Dive Rite O2ptima CM—often called the CHO2ptima—takes the proven O2ptima platform and puts it into a compact chest-mounted configuration. Its chest-mounted design offers tremendous flexibility and makes it particularly interesting for divers who want a CCR that can integrate with different cylinder configurations and styles of technical diving.
If you’ve been curious about the CHO2ptima, this is your opportunity to experience closed-circuit diving firsthand.
Fathom Gemini
The Fathom Gemini is a compact, streamlined CCR designed with serious technical diving in mind. Its clean configuration and minimalist approach make it an interesting platform for divers exploring the world of CCR.
A Gemini Try Dive gives you an opportunity to experience the breathing characteristics, configuration, and operation of the unit under professional supervision.
Fathom Mk3
The Fathom Mk3 represents another approach to a purpose-built CCR platform for demanding technical and exploration diving.
If you’re comparing CCR platforms—or simply want to see what diving a different rebreather feels like—the Mk3 Try Dive provides a great opportunity to get hands-on experience.
Never been on a rebreather before? That’s the point. These experiences are intended to introduce divers to CCR in a controlled environment and help them decide whether closed-circuit diving might be the next step in their diving journey.
WHY CAPTAIN DON’S HABITAT?
Captain Don’s Habitat is almost tailor-made for a trip like this.
Located directly on the Caribbean Sea, the resort gives us immediate access to Bonaire’s legendary diving while putting our accommodations, dive facilities, and technical-diving support together in one incredibly convenient location.
Spend less time moving equipment and dealing with logistics—and more time doing what we came to Bonaire to do:
Dive. Train. Experiment. Learn. Repeat.
CHOOSE YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS
We’ll have three accommodation options available for the group, allowing you to choose the setup that works best for you, your roommate, or a group of dive buddies.
Deluxe Ocean View
A great choice for one or two divers who want traditional resort accommodations with a view.
The Deluxe Ocean View rooms overlook the freshwater pool and Caribbean Sea and feature two queen beds, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, full bathroom, Wi-Fi, and a private balcony or patio.
It’s a simple, comfortable home base for a week where you’ll probably be spending considerably more time underwater than in your room.
Oceanfront Villa
Bring the dive team.
Captain Don’s three-bedroom Oceanfront Villas are an excellent option for groups of friends traveling together. The villas feature three separate bedrooms along with a full kitchen and living room, giving your group substantially more room to spread out and relax between dives.
For a group of tech divers traveling with a mountain of equipment, having additional living space and a kitchen can make this an especially attractive option.
Habitat 2/2
The two-bedroom/two-bathroom Habitat bungalow is a great middle ground for dive buddies or couples traveling together.
These accommodations comfortably sleep four and include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an air-conditioned living room, fully equipped kitchen, and a large covered patio.
For four divers sharing accommodations, the 2/2 offers a lot of flexibility while still giving everyone considerably more space than a traditional hotel room.
DIVE BONAIRE DIFFERENTLY
Bonaire is already one of the world's great diving destinations.
This trip is about seeing just how much further your diving can go.
Make the dives you already love. Build experience. Learn decompression procedures. Start technical training. Advance your CCR certification. Try a completely different rebreather. Spend a week surrounded by divers who are excited about pushing their skills and exploring what's possible.
And with TDS Bonaire providing our technical and rebreather support just steps from where we're staying, you'll have the infrastructure to make the most of every day.
You don't have to be a tech diver.
You just have to be interested in becoming a better diver and seeing where diving can take you next.
Recreational. Technical. Open Circuit. Closed Circuit.
There’s a place for you on the 2027 Bonaire Tec Dive Trip.
